Bésame Mucho canceled its Los Angeles festival, which had been scheduled for December 21, 2024, at Dodger Stadium. Shakira was among the announced headliners, but organizers did not say that she—or any other performer—caused the cancellation. Their public explanation was only “circumstances beyond our control.”
What happened to Bésame Mucho in Los Angeles?
The one-day festival was planned for Dodger Stadium on December 21, 2024. Organizers announced on November 25 that the Los Angeles event would “no longer take place.” The announcement came about a month before the scheduled date. The festival’s official announcement and contemporaneous Los Angeles Times coverage confirm the cancellation.
Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Los Tigres del Norte, and Banda MS were announced as headliners. The listed performers also included Pitbull, Ana Bárbara, Gloria Trevi, Juanes, Carlos Vives, and Elvis Crespo. The Los Angeles Times reported that the event and lineup were announced on May 21, 2024.
Why was the festival canceled?
The organizers’ stated reason was “circumstances beyond our control.” Their announcement did not describe the underlying circumstances or name a specific cause. FOX 11 reported that the reason was unknown, while ABC7 said details behind the cancellation were unavailable, as summarized in FOX 11’s November 26, 2024 report.

Was Shakira the reason?
There is no confirmed evidence in the cited reporting that Shakira’s plans caused the cancellation. Billboard’s contemporaneous report noted that she had announced a change to her U.S. arena-tour plans about a month earlier, but that timing alone does not establish a connection to the festival’s cancellation. Billboard’s report via Yahoo Entertainment does not establish a cause. Claims that a performer withdrew or that ticket sales were responsible should therefore be treated as unverified speculation, not fact.
What did organizers say about refunds?
The festival said tickets purchased directly from Front Gate Tickets would be automatically refunded to the original payment method “in as little as 30 days.” This was the organizer’s announced policy for direct purchases; the statement does not establish that every buyer received a refund or specify how purchases through other sellers would be handled. The official announcement contains the refund notice.
