Celebrity Net Worth estimates Brigitte Bardot’s net worth at $65 million, but that is not a confirmed financial statement. Media reports have also put her estate at €69.5 million or more than €60 million. None of these figures is an authoritative, publicly disclosed estate inventory, and they describe different claims rather than a single verified total.
What was Brigitte Bardot’s net worth?
The most widely repeated dollar figure is $65 million, an estimate published by Celebrity Net Worth. The site says its net-worth figures are estimates unless otherwise indicated, and no authoritative public inventory confirms Bardot’s total wealth. Treat $65 million as a media estimate, not an audited valuation or an official figure.

Other outlets reported euro-denominated estate estimates: Vanity Fair Italia cited €69.5 million in January 2026, while Open described her estate as worth more than €60 million in December 2025. Both are unverified media estimates. They should not be combined or converted into a supposedly precise net-worth range: they use different currencies and describe reported estate values, not the same independently verified measure.
| Published figure | Source and date | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| $65 million | Celebrity Net Worth, accessed October 8, 2026 | The site’s net-worth estimate; not an official financial statement. |
| €69.5 million | Vanity Fair Italia, January 2026 | A reported estate estimate; not an independently confirmed valuation. |
| More than €60 million | Open, December 2025 | A reported estate estimate; not an independently confirmed valuation. |
| Nearly €1 million, including fees | The Guardian / AFP, September 2026 | Proceeds from a particular auction of personal items, not a net-worth or estate valuation. |
Why the estimates are not a confirmed total
A celebrity net-worth estimate and a reported estate valuation are not interchangeable. They may use different assumptions and refer to different things; the sources do not provide comparable, independently audited figures. The sources cited here do not establish a definitive total or a public probate inventory that would settle Bardot’s assets and liabilities.
#1 Best Overall
Bardot died at age 91 on December 28, 2025, according to the Associated Press, citing a representative of the Fondation Brigitte Bardot. The AP report confirms her death, but does not establish the value of her estate.
How her later life and philanthropy fit into the picture
Bardot retired from film in 1973 and devoted much of her later life to animal protection. Le Monde reports that she donated the bare ownership of La Madrague, her Saint-Tropez home, to her foundation, and sold jewelry, personal belongings, and signed photographs to support its work. These actions offer context about her priorities, but they do not quantify her overall wealth or establish the value of her estate.
Rank #2
Writing was also part of her public life: Le Monde identifies her autobiography Initiales B.B. and her 2018 book Larmes de combat (Tears of Battle: An Animal Rights Memoir). The newspaper reported that she told it in January 2018, “Without animals, I would have committed suicide.” The remark belongs to the context of her commitment to animal protection; it says nothing about her finances.
What the 2026 auction does—and does not—tell us
In September 2026, 285 personal items from Bardot’s Paris and Saint-Tropez homes sold for nearly €1 million including fees, according to The Guardian / AFP. The report said the result was almost 20 times the estimate. Lots included clothes, furniture, self-portraits, guitars, and a typewriter she had used to write an autobiography. Reported proceeds were to go to her foundation and her only child.

AFP Factuel found that online claims that Bardot earned money through algorithmic trading were fabricated. The foundation disputed the story, and the Banque de France said a purported bank statement in her name was false. Those claims are not credible evidence of her wealth and should not be used to explain the estimates.
