Why did Brandy leave?
In an apology to Chicago fans published on October 19, Brandy said that after weeks of rehearsals she had experienced dehydration and “feelings of wanting to faint.” Her account was reproduced by CBS Chicago and Rolling Stone Australia.
Brandy also said she tried to return, but changes to the performance made it impossible to “fully connect sonically with the production.” She described both feeling unwell and difficulty reconnecting with the show’s production; her statement does not establish that sound issues alone caused her exit.
