A verified current net-worth figure for Boris Becker is not established by the available financial reporting. A 2022 legal analysis says Becker argued that his tennis career earnings were about $50 million; Associated Press reporting on his May 2024 bankruptcy discharge said he still owed about £42 million. Those are different measures from different dates, and neither reveals his present-day net worth.
Why there is no reliable current net-worth figure
Net worth is the value of a person’s assets minus liabilities at a particular time. The public figures here do not provide a current balance sheet of Becker’s assets, debts and income. His reported career earnings are not the same as money he retained, and a bankruptcy discharge is not proof that all debts were paid.
HFW’s 2022 legal analysis reports that Becker argued he had earned approximately $50 million during his tennis career, but that divorce, child-maintenance payments and an expensive lifestyle had consumed those earnings. That is an attributed argument about historic earnings—not an audited total or an estimate of his wealth today. (HFW, 2022)

How Becker’s bankruptcy unfolded
The 2017 bankruptcy order
Becker retired from professional tennis in 1999. HFW reports that he cited a sharp decline in income after retirement among the factors in his bankruptcy. On 21 June 2017, a bankruptcy order was made following a petition related to an unpaid loan of around €4.6 million secured against a Mallorca estate. (HFW, 2022)
The 2022 convictions and sentence
On 8 April 2022, Becker was convicted of four offences under the Insolvency Act. HFW identifies the convictions as relating to removing property, failing to disclose ownership of a German property, concealing a loan and failing to disclose shares. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison on 29 April 2022. HFW says he was acquitted on 20 other charges; AP’s 2024 account says he was acquitted on 25 others. The 2024 discharge
On 1 May 2024, a London court discharged Becker from bankruptcy. AP reported that he still owed about £42 million and that a settlement included a “substantial sum” and outstanding trophies. Discharge therefore should not be read as evidence that the reported debt had been repaid in full. AP also quoted the judge describing Becker as cooperative with the trustee’s inquiries.
