What the first trailer previews
Blue Lock’s story follows a Japan Football Union project intended to develop the country’s best striker for a World Cup-winning team. The official English series synopsis says 300 high school forwards enter the fictional program and 35 egoists survive its selection process. Those numbers describe the story, not real-world football statistics.
In the Japanese official synopsis for the first promotional video, Ego tells the 35 survivors that Blue Lock will end if they lose to Japan’s U-20 team. He then announces a trial to decide who will represent the team. Isagi is shown resolving to change his life through the match, and the synopsis introduces Oliver Aiku, voiced by Satoshi Hino.
