The story described in the title is BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War episode 30, “THE BETRAYER,” not Part 3’s fourth episode. In it, Captain Jūshirō Ukitake releases Mimihagi’s power and becomes one with it to take the slain Soul King’s place. The official synopsis says this prevents the world from collapsing, but Yhwach’s attempt to destroy Mimihagi and Uryu’s attack bring new danger immediately.
First, the episode number needs correcting
The plot about Ukitake and Mimihagi matches episode 30, “THE BETRAYER,” on the official BLEACH anime episode page. Aniplex’s official Japanese listing also identifies the story as episode 30. “Part 3, Episode 4” would indicate a different installment if counted as the fourth episode of that part.
Prime Video’s Part 3 listing also labels “THE BETRAYER” as episode 30 and displays October 25, 2024 in its listing locale; that date should not be treated as a universal release date. The numbering distinction matters because the title’s plot description points to a specific episode, rather than a preview of Part 3’s fourth installment.
What Ukitake does after the Soul King is killed
The official synopsis says Ukitake releases the power of Mimihagi within him and becomes one with it, taking the place of the slain Soul King. Mimihagi is preventing the world from collapsing. Ukitake’s action therefore addresses the immediate crisis described in the episode summary: the world is at risk after the Soul King’s death, and Mimihagi is acting as the stabilizing force.

The synopsis establishes the purpose of Ukitake’s intervention, but does not specify how long it can hold or explain its mechanics in detail. It is safest to understand it as an urgent response to the collapse threat, not as proof that the larger conflict has been resolved.
Why the intervention does not end the danger
Yhwach targets Mimihagi
Ichigo and his allies confront Yhwach to stop him from destroying Mimihagi along with the Soul King’s remains. They fail. The immediate stakes shift from preventing the world’s collapse to protecting the force now standing in the Soul King’s place from Yhwach’s attack.

Uryu turns against Ichigo’s group
Uryu attacks Ichigo and his companions. Ichigo asks him to explain his recent actions, but receives hostility and empty words instead. The episode’s title, “THE BETRAYER,” fits this rupture of trust, while the official synopsis leaves the immediate explanation unresolved.
How this fits the wider Part 3 conflict
The official Part 3 overview places the episode within the broader war between Soul Reapers and Quincies, with Yhwach entering the Royal Palace and Ichigo’s trust in Uryu already in question. Ukitake’s act addresses the consequences of the Soul King’s death, but the confrontation with Yhwach and the conflict with Uryu continue alongside that crisis.

VIZ’s announcement describes distortions and omens of the Three Worlds’ collapse following the Soul King’s death. Those platform details apply to the announced Part 4 release in the specified markets; they do not establish Part 3’s availability everywhere.

The official episode listing identifies this installment as episode 30, “THE BETRAYER.” For viewers following the animated story, that is the episode to look for rather than a Part 3 episode numbered four. A specific BLEACH manga volume for these events is not established by the cited materials, so no volume number is given here.
