The official English Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War character profile refers to Giselle Gewelle with feminine pronouns, but it does not explicitly define her gender identity. Those are related questions, not the same claim: the profile shows how its English copy refers to Giselle, not a stated biography or definitive explanation of identity.
What does the official character profile say?
The official TYBW character profile identifies Giselle as a Stern Ritter and member of the Bambies. Its English text says, “Her teammates call her ‘Gigi.’” That is clear evidence of feminine pronoun usage in the official English profile.

The profile does not explicitly say that Giselle identifies as a girl, a boy, or transgender. It is therefore accurate to say that the official English profile uses feminine pronouns for Giselle; it goes beyond the profile to treat that wording as a complete account of her identity.
What is the manga exchange people discuss?
Giselle’s gender is often discussed in connection with an exchange with Yumichika in the manga. VIZ officially lists Chapter 588, “The Headless Star 7”, but the listing itself does not show the chapter’s dialogue. It cannot verify the exact wording of a line circulated in discussion or in unofficial translations.
#1 Best Overall
Exact phrasing can differ between the Japanese manga, its official English localization, the anime adaptation, and fan translations. If quoting the exchange, identify the edition and language being quoted and check that edition directly. The chapter listing establishes where to look, not what the disputed line says.
How does the anime frame Giselle’s role?
The official episode synopsis describes Ikkaku and Yumichika confronting Giselle during the zombie conflict, while the character profile says Giselle turns Bambietta into a zombie. These details establish the story context for the scene, but the conflict is not itself an authoritative narration of Giselle’s gender identity.
Rank #2
The anime’s official episode synopsis and the character profile answer different questions: one describes events, while the other supplies character information and uses feminine pronouns in English. Neither explicitly defines Giselle’s identity.

Secondary coverage points to a reported Klub Outside Q&A as commentary about Giselle’s sex. Without the primary answer’s exact wording, that report should not be presented as a verified creator quotation or as a definitive canon statement. A secondary account of a Q&A is not interchangeable with the original response.
Rank #3
The safest distinction is between what an official source directly establishes and what fans infer or report: the English profile uses feminine pronouns; the manga chapter is an official place to consult for the exchange; and the profile does not explicitly state a gender identity.
