Its description appeared more than a year after Lisa’s April 2025 Coachella performance, so “mushroom-blonde-inspired” is more precise than treating “mushroom blonde” as the confirmed name used at the debut.
Vogue’s April 19, 2025 Coachella coverage provides contemporaneous appearance context, but does not identify the shade by name.
What does “mushroom blonde” mean?
Mushroom blonde is a descriptive trend label, not one standardized shade or salon formula. It generally refers to a cool, dimensional blend of blonde and brunette tones, often with ashy or taupe notes. That broad definition helps explain why later coverage could compare Lisa’s soft mink blonde to mushroom blonde without establishing that the terms are interchangeable or that one exact formula defines the trend.

How to ask a stylist for a similar shade
Bring reference photos and describe the effect you want rather than relying on “mushroom blonde” as if it names one fixed formula. A consultation can pin down the tone, depth, placement and grow-out that suit your hair.
- Temperature: Ask for cool, taupey or ash-leaning tones, and say whether you want any warmth.
- Depth: Explain how much brunette dimension you want to keep between the blonde pieces.
