Madmind Studio released a separate video of Agony scenes cut before launch on May 31, 2018, after canceling its planned Adults Only patch. The studio said the remaining edits affected several seconds from two of the game’s seven endings and some scenes unlocked after completing the game. Content warning: the video was described as graphic and spoiler-heavy; its current availability has not been verified.
What happened with the Agony deleted scenes?
On May 28, 2018, Madmind Studio published a final statement about censorship in Agony. The developer said it had managed to include much of the material it originally intended to add through a patch in the commercial game, and that this version had been accepted by PEGI and other rating companies. Madmind said the remaining cuts affected only several seconds in two of the game’s seven endings, as well as some scenes unlockable after finishing the game. Read Madmind’s May 28 statement on Steam.

Three days later, on May 31, Madmind announced that a video showing the altered material was available. The studio described it as “nasty parts” changed just before the game launched and linked to an MP4 hosted on Dropbox. The announcement documents the video’s historical release, but does not establish whether that link still works today. Read the May 31 video announcement on Steam.
Why was the Agony uncensor patch canceled?
Madmind said it would not release the planned Adults Only patch because of legal issues. In its May 28 announcement, the studio wrote: “Secondly, due to legal issues, we are not going to be able to release the Adult Only patch.” It said uncensored publication could result in the game being banned and the studio being sued. That is the developer’s explanation of its decision, not an independently verified legal finding.

- Surpass the limits of your mind and exploit every shadow to hide and survive as you test your nerves of Steel and Venture into the most secret realms of hell
- Find secret patterns and draw them with your own Blood on the sacrificial Stones, collecting ancient artifacts along the way and using their powers to discover hidden paths in another dimension
- Huge, visually stunning levels and a uniquely terrifying game design; find your path through a mystical floating Forest and other hostile environments
- Resist the seductive yet dangerous 'Red Goddess' in this terrifying story of horror, eroticism, and damnation inspired by dante alighieri's inferno
The studio also said that much of its intended material was already included in the commercial version, while the remaining changes were limited to portions of two endings and certain post-game scenes. The separate video was therefore not the canceled patch: it was a release showing material Madmind said had been changed.
What was in the uncensored video?
A contemporary report by Prima Games described examples in the footage as simulated butt physics, violence against infant-like figures, and a first-person sexual-violence scene. These descriptions indicate why the announcement carried a spoiler warning; they are not a reason to seek out the footage without considering its graphic content. Prima Games’ May 31, 2018 report.

Madmind’s statement characterized the commercial game itself as containing extensive sexual and violent material, including gore, sex scenes, eye gouging, heart plucking, intense violence, strong language, and drugs. It also said promotional scenes had not been censored. Those are the developer’s descriptions of the game, not an independent content assessment.
Agony’s rating: what the Australian classification establishes
The Australian Classification Board’s annual report covering 2017–18 lists Agony among the computer games classified R 18+ in that reporting period. The report says 20 of the 442 computer games classified by the Board during 2017–18 received an R 18+ classification. Those totals describe the Board’s classification activity, not all games released that year. Australian Classification Board, 2017–18 annual report (published 2019).

Madmind’s May 31 announcement linked to a Dropbox-hosted MP4, but whether that file remains accessible is not established here. The announcement confirms that the video was released in 2018; it does not guarantee a working link today. Nor does owning or buying Agony establish access to the separate video.
