Peacock is NBCUniversal’s U.S. streaming service for NBC and Bravo programming, Universal films, Peacock Originals, live sports, news, and 24/7 channels. Peacock’s official pages listed Premium at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year and Premium Plus at $16.99 per month or $169.99 per year as of August 16, 2026. Premium Plus reduces ads in most eligible on-demand programs and adds select downloads and a local NBC live feed where available—but it is not completely ad-free. The main decision is whether Peacock’s particular shows and sports justify the subscription, and whether Premium Plus features matter to you.
What is Peacock?
Peacock is NBCUniversal’s subscription streaming service. It brings together on-demand entertainment, live sports and events, news, Spanish-language programming, and linear-style streaming channels in one app. Its programming includes content associated with NBC, Bravo, Telemundo, Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, and Focus Features, alongside licensed titles and Peacock Originals. The exact catalog changes over time.
Peacock is separate from the individual apps for NBCUniversal networks. Signing in to an NBC or Bravo network app with a participating TV-provider account does not, by itself, mean you have a Peacock subscription. Some providers or bundles may include Peacock, but you need to confirm and activate that benefit. NBC’s explanation of Peacock and its network apps describes the distinction.
This guide covers the U.S. service. The official pages cited here use U.S. pricing and refer to local NBC access; they do not establish a complete list of countries where Peacock is available. Catalogs and sports rights can differ by territory.

How much does Peacock cost?
Peacock’s official pages listed the following direct prices on August 16, 2026. Promotions, taxes, partner billing, and eligibility can change what you pay; check the price and renewal terms shown at checkout.

Peacock markets each annual plan as 12 months for the price of 10. Compared with paying the listed monthly rate for 12 months, Premium’s annual plan saves $22.89 and Premium Plus’s saves $33.89, before taxes or other terms. Choose annual billing only if you expect to keep the service for most of the year.
Peacock’s sports page also advertised Premium for eligible college and university students at $5.99 per month for 12 months. Verify eligibility, renewal pricing, and availability on the student offer page before signing up; this is an offer, not the standard Premium price.
These are direct-plan prices, not guaranteed prices through every partner. A subscription billed by a marketplace, TV provider, or another company may have different offers, billing dates, upgrade options, and cancellation steps. See Peacock’s plans and sports page for current offers.

Premium or Premium Plus: which plan should you choose?

Choose Premium if
- You want Peacock’s shows, films, and sports at the lower standard direct price and can accept ads.
- You mainly watch live sports, where advertising may remain even on Premium Plus.
- You do not need offline viewing or the local NBC live feed.
Choose Premium Plus if
- You watch a lot of eligible on-demand content and value fewer ad interruptions.
- You want to download eligible shows or movies to a supported mobile device.
- Your local NBC live feed is available and useful to you.
Premium Plus is not a universal cable replacement or a promise of ad-free playback. If you are unsure whether its added features justify the difference, starting with Premium avoids paying extra for benefits you may not use.
What can you watch on Peacock?
Peacock combines several kinds of programming rather than focusing on one genre. Its home page and catalog can change, so treat any title as time-sensitive rather than a permanent promise.
- NBC and Bravo: Current and recent network programs, reality franchises, and library episodes. Release timing and the number of available episodes depend on rights and schedules.
- Peacock Originals: Original series, films, and other programs made for the service.
- Movies: Universal-related releases, including titles from Universal, DreamWorks Animation, and Focus Features, as well as other licensed films. A studio association does not mean every film is always on Peacock.
- News and late night: Daily news, late-night programming, and other news-related content.
- Spanish-language programming: Telemundo shows and news, alongside other Spanish-language content.
- Kids’ programming and 24/7 channels: Children’s titles, genre hubs, and channels that stream continuously in a linear-style format.
Streaming rights, release windows, and licensing can affect when a program arrives and how long it remains. Check the app for a specific show or movie rather than assuming every NBC or Bravo episode is immediately available.
What sports are on Peacock?
Sports are a major reason to consider Peacock, but rights are specific to events and can change. Peacock promotes coverage that includes the Premier League, WWE, golf, cycling, NBC Sports programming, and other live sports and events. Its current site also references Spanish-language coverage of FIFA World Cup 2026, including audio and subtitles. These examples do not mean that every match, tournament, or NBC sports broadcast is available on Peacock. See Peacock’s sports page and the event listing for the current schedule.

- Before subscribing for a particular game or tournament, confirm that the event itself is streaming live on Peacock.
- Distinguish a live stream from a replay, highlights, or an on-demand archive.
- Expect ads during live sports even with Premium Plus.
- Premium Plus’s local NBC feed, where available, is not the same as access to every NBC Sports event.
Does Peacock have ads?
Premium includes ads. Premium Plus removes ads from most eligible on-demand programming, not from every part of the service. Live sports and events, Peacock Channels, and some shows or films may still contain advertising or promotional interruptions. That can reflect the programming or rights arrangements, rather than a billing error. If a program appears to have more ads than expected after an upgrade, confirm that the account shows Premium Plus and that the subscription entitlement has taken effect.
Can you download Peacock shows and movies?
Downloads are a Premium Plus benefit for select titles on supported mobile or tablet devices—not a way to save the full catalog on a TV or computer. Peacock’s offline viewing guidance sets these limits:
- Up to 25 downloaded pieces of content across all devices at one time.
- Some titles can be downloaded no more than 10 times per account.
- Once playback starts, a download is automatically removed after 48 hours.
- An unwatched download expires after 30 days or when the title leaves Peacock, whichever comes first.
- Logging out or uninstalling the app removes downloads from that device.
Download a title
- Open the Peacock app on a supported mobile phone, tablet, or other eligible tablet device.
- Open the movie or series you want to save and look for the Download icon. If there is no icon, that title is not currently eligible.
- Select the icon and let the download finish; the app displays its progress.
- Open the app’s Downloads section to watch while offline.
If a download fails, check that you have Premium Plus, available device storage, and room under the 25-item account limit.
Which devices support Peacock?
Peacock supports many recent TVs, streaming players, phones, tablets, consoles, browsers, and provider boxes. Compatibility depends on the precise model and software version; a supported brand name alone is not enough. The requirements below are listed in Peacock’s supported devices and platforms guide and may change.

Check the exact model and operating-system version on Peacock’s support page before subscribing for an older television or device. A supported streaming player, console, or browser can be an alternative when the TV itself is not compatible.

One account can have up to six profiles and stream on up to three devices at the same time. Profiles can help separate recommendations and include kid-safety settings, but they are not extra paid seats and do not raise the three-stream limit. Peacock’s household policy describes the account as intended for personal, non-commercial use within the subscriber’s household.
If Peacock reports that the simultaneous-stream limit has been reached, stop playback on another device. A crashed browser or device can remain counted as active; Peacock says to wait about 10 minutes before trying again. See its stream limit details and troubleshooting guidance.
How do you sign up for Peacock?
- Go to Peacock’s official site and choose Premium or Premium Plus.
- Select monthly or annual billing if both are offered, and check the renewal price and terms shown at checkout.
- Create a Peacock account or sign in, then enter payment details.
- Install Peacock on a supported device or watch through a supported browser.
- If a provider or marketplace is supplying the subscription, note where it is billed and how that partner expects you to manage it.
Check existing student, provider, or bundle eligibility before paying. Do not start a second subscription through a different billing platform without checking your current account: an existing direct plan may need to be canceled and expire before a partner offer can be activated. How do you cancel Peacock?
The cancellation route depends on who bills you. For a direct Peacock subscription, use your Peacock account; for a subscription billed by Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, Xfinity, Verizon, DIRECTV, Spectrum, or another partner, cancel through that company.
Cancel a direct subscription
- Log in to Peacock.
- Select Cancel All Subscriptions.
- Follow the cancellation prompts.
- Check the confirmation screen and email, and confirm that the plan will not renew.
Peacock says cancellation normally stops renewal at the end of the current paid term. It generally does not refund or credit prior payments unless required by law. If you cannot find a cancellation option in Peacock, check the account’s payment method to identify the billing provider, then cancel through that provider. The official cancellation page has the current instructions.
Is Peacock worth it?
- NBC and Bravo viewers: A good fit if you regularly watch those programs and the titles you want are currently available.
- Sports viewers: Worth considering when Peacock carries the specific live events you follow. Verify each event before subscribing; league or network association alone does not guarantee availability.
- Movie and general-entertainment viewers: The mix of Universal-related films, licensed movies, Originals, and network shows can be useful, but the catalog rotates.
- Ad-averse viewers: Premium Plus may suit heavy on-demand viewers, but not anyone who expects all live sports, channels, and programs to be commercial-free.
- Occasional viewers: Premium’s monthly option may make more sense than annual billing if you only want a particular show or event for a short period.
- Households with many viewers: Six profiles help organize viewing, but only three streams can run at once.
- Viewers outside the U.S.: Do not assume U.S. prices, catalog, or rights apply in your country.
For alternatives, choose by the content you actually want: Netflix for broad general entertainment; Max for HBO and Warner Bros. programming; Paramount+ for CBS and Paramount content; Disney+ for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and family franchises; Prime Video for its broader streaming and rental-store ecosystem; and Hulu for its own television and live-TV offerings. YouTube TV and Fubo are aimed more at people seeking a broader live-TV replacement. None is a substitute for a particular Peacock-exclusive event or title unless it carries that same programming.
