What is in Tracks II: The Lost Albums?
The release contains seven full-length album projects and 83 songs. Springsteen’s official June 27, 2025 announcement says 74 songs had never been released in any form, so the remaining tracks should not be described as all-new or previously unheard.

The seven albums are:
- LA Garage Sessions ’83
- Streets of Philadelphia Sessions
- Faithless
- Somewhere North of Nashville
- Inyo
- Twilight Hours
- Perfect World
Springsteen described the projects as completed records that had stayed in the vault: “The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released.” The Associated Press reported that the material was written and re-recorded between 1983 and 2018, and that Springsteen began finishing vault material during the COVID-19 pandemic.
How do the seven albums differ?
The collection documents distinct musical directions rather than one continuous album. Springsteen’s official release announcement describes the projects this way:

- LA Garage Sessions ’83 is a lo-fi set that connects the period around Nebraska and Born in the U.S.A..
- Streets of Philadelphia Sessions uses drum loops and synthesizers.
- Faithless was conceived as a soundtrack for a film that was never made.
- Somewhere North of Nashville centers on country arrangements and pedal steel.
- Inyo explores border stories.
- Twilight Hours pays homage to American pop standards.
- Perfect World takes an E Street-style arena-rock approach.
Springsteen said he had played the music to himself and close friends over the years, adding, “I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them.”
Which formats were released?
The official Springsteen release page lists limited-edition seven-CD and nine-LP box sets, as well as digital formats. The physical box packaging includes a 100-page cloth-bound hardcover book with archival photographs, album notes by Erik Flannigan, and an introduction from Springsteen. The announcement confirms that these editions were released; it does not establish current retailer stock or prices.

Why do release dates differ by country?
The general release date was June 27, 2025, according to Springsteen’s official release-day announcement. Sony Music Japan lists July 2, 2025, for its Japan-specific edition and says that date was moved from June 27.
Sony Music Japan describes that issue as a limited 2,000-set domestic-specification import edition in seven-CD format. It identifies the nine-LP box as an import. Those details apply to the Japanese edition and should not be treated as worldwide edition terms.

No. Lost And Found: Selections from The Lost Albums is a separate 20-track companion release announced in two-LP and one-CD formats. It is not the complete seven-album Tracks II collection.
