For a time-capsule list of horror recommendations from April 2022, Ghost Pirate Entertainment’s April 13 guide named ten films: Jack Goes Home, Butterfly Kisses, Oculus, Stitches, Slumber, Starry Eyes, Night Hunter, Guns Akimbo, Afflicted and The Lazarus Effect. They are that creator’s picks, not a verified ranking of the genre’s best films. The list is historical, too: it does not establish which titles are available on Prime Video today.
The ten picks in the April 2022 guide
Ghost Pirate Entertainment published its video guide on April 13, 2022, under the title 10 Best Horror Movies on Amazon Prime Video | April 2022 | Horror Movie Guide. Its chapter list names the films below in this order; the sequence is not evidence of scores or a comparative ranking.

The available source identifies the titles but does not provide enough verified detail to compare their subgenres, intensity, runtimes, or quality. Choose among them based on your own preferences, and check a title’s listing for content and runtime before watching.
Does “on Prime Video” mean included with membership?
Not necessarily. Prime Video combines films included with a Prime membership with titles available to rent or buy, as well as content offered through add-on channels. Amazon’s current horror-film page illustrates that these access modes can coexist. Availability and access type are title-specific and may vary by country.

The April 2022 recommendation list does not establish the current access mode for any of its ten films. Before settling on one, search for its exact title in Prime Video in your country and check whether the listing says it is included, requires a rental or purchase, or is part of a channel subscription. Do not assume an old recommendation means the film is still included—or still offered—there.

Contemporaneous coverage also reported films scheduled to arrive on Prime Video on April 1, 2022. Gizmodo’s April streaming guide named Carrie (1976), Jeepers Creepers 2, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and The Sixth Sense. TechRadar’s April arrivals schedule covered scheduled additions, not every licensed film in the catalog.
Rank #2
Those arrivals reports answer a different question from Ghost Pirate Entertainment’s recommendations: one describes titles reported as arriving at a particular time; the other offers a creator’s picks. Neither should be treated as a current, complete catalog.
