Qué pasó la noche del ataque
Paola Salcedo había acudido a una función de circo en Huixquilucan. La noche del 29 de junio de 2024 fue agredida con disparos y trasladada a un hospital, donde murió. La Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México abrió una investigación bajo el protocolo de actuación para investigar el delito de feminicidio, según la cobertura de la vinculación a proceso. La cobertura periodística de julio de 2024 identificó a la víctima como Martha Paola Salcedo Hernández, hermana del futbolista.
Detenciones y proceso penal
La hipótesis atribuida a la Fiscalía
El 4 de julio, la Fiscalía estatal informó sobre la detención de dos sospechosos. Los reportes de ese momento atribuyeron a las autoridades la hipótesis de que el ataque ocurrió durante un robo y que Paola se resistió a entregar sus pertenencias. Esa explicación debe entenderse como el móvil planteado por la Fiscalía, no como un hecho probado por una sentencia. La información periodística sobre las detenciones no permite presentar esa hipótesis como una conclusión judicial.
Qué significa que fueran vinculados a proceso
En julio de 2024 se informó que ambos hombres fueron vinculados a proceso por su probable intervención. La vinculación significa que el procedimiento penal continuó; no equivale a una condena ni demuestra por sí sola culpabilidad. Por eso, con la información aquí disponible, lo preciso es hablar de sospechosos detenidos y hombres vinculados a proceso, no de asesinos condenados. Por qué declaró Carlos Salcedo
Entre el 16 y el 18 de julio de 2024, la Fiscalía citó al futbolista Carlos Salcedo y él acudió a declarar como testigo, según la cobertura de esos días. Esto no equivale a que las autoridades lo acusaran formalmente ni a que lo señalaran como responsable.
En una publicación de Instagram, María Isabel Hernández, madre de Carlos y Paola, lo acusó públicamente a él y a su esposa. La prensa reportó esa acusación, pero las fuentes disponibles no la presentan como conclusión de la Fiscalía ni acreditan que constituya evidencia de culpabilidad. Es una alegación pública distinta de las actuaciones procesales informadas.
