The agency instead asked fans to offer their warm regards and encouragement in their hearts.
What BIGHIT MUSIC told fans
In its official Weverse notice, titled “[NOTICE] BTS j-hope’s Military Discharge,” BIGHIT MUSIC said j-hope was close to completing his active army service and would soon be discharged. The agency wrote: “No special events are planned on the day of j-hope’s discharge.”
It also warned against visiting the site: “To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site.” BIGHIT MUSIC noted that many service members share discharge day, making an on-site gathering inappropriate. The agency asked fans to convey their warm regards and encouragement in their hearts.
When the notice was issued—and what happened next
Contemporaneous coverage by Soompi dates BIGHIT MUSIC’s announcement to October 14, 2024. The notice referred to j-hope’s upcoming discharge; the Associated Press later reported that he was discharged in October 2024.
