What was Apple’s Summer Deal of the Day?
Apple promoted one discounted movie or TV offer per day in the Apple TV app’s Store. The opening listing was marked “1 of 14,” and coverage reported that the campaign ran for 14 days. Apple-focused outlets reported the promotion, but there was no clearly discoverable standalone Apple announcement or complete official schedule. The confirmed first offer should not be taken as proof that every day featured a bundle.
The campaign concerned digital purchases from the Store. It was not a blanket discount on everything in the Apple TV app, nor a benefit included with an Apple TV subscription.
What was the first deal?
The first offer was The Hangover Trilogy—The Hangover, The Hangover Part II, and The Hangover Part III—for $9.99 in the U.S. MacRumors reported that the films ordinarily cost about $12.99 to $14.99 each individually; prices and availability can vary by storefront and title configuration, so those figures are not a guaranteed comparison for every buyer.

Early coverage did not establish whether later daily offers would be bundles, individual films, or TV shows.

The promotion launched Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Reports described 14 daily offers, with the final day on Monday, August 11, 2025. As of August 18, 2026, that original campaign is over; an archived article or a separate later promotion does not mean the 2025 offer is still available. No exact daily reset time is established here.

- Open the Apple TV app.
- Select Store, rather than the subscription viewing area.
- Look in featured items or promotional rows for “Summer Deal of the Day.”
- Open the item and check its title, bundle contents, price, and purchase option before checkout.
Apple’s Store guide describes browsing featured items, deals, movies, and TV shows. The placement of a promotion can vary by device and region, and the Apple TV app may be available on a device that does not support purchases directly on that device.
Buying, renting, and subscribing are different

What happens after a digital purchase?
Purchased films and shows appear in the Library and can generally be watched on compatible devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Apple says downloads are supported on compatible iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Windows PC devices; smart TVs and streaming devices generally stream rather than download purchases locally. Device and regional limits to check
- Storefront: The $9.99 opening price was reported for the U.S. A user report said the offer was unavailable in the U.K., but that anecdote does not establish availability in every other country. Apple says content and features vary by country or region.
- Transaction support: The deal could appear in the Apple TV app while a particular TV, streaming box, or console lacked on-device purchasing. Try a supported device or Apple’s purchase page if checkout is unavailable.
- Missing Buy button: Apple says that if there is no Buy option in an item’s “How to Watch” area, the content may not be available for purchase on that device or storefront. See Apple’s guidance on buying movies and TV shows.
- Different action labels: Check whether the title says Buy, Rent, Subscribe, or Open In. The Apple TV app can show options from channels and other apps as well as Store purchases.
What to check before buying a similar offer
- Confirm the storefront country and the price shown at checkout.
- Read the complete bundle contents and check the available video and language configuration.
- Make sure the button is for a purchase, not a rental, subscription, or app handoff.
- Compare the bundle with what you actually plan to watch: one rental or an existing subscription may suit a single viewing better.
- Check which Apple Account will make the purchase and whether Family Sharing matters to you.
- Consider that purchased content is tied to Apple’s ecosystem and that offline downloads are not supported on every device.
If a purchase is missing
First check the Library and confirm that the device is signed in to the Apple Account used at checkout. Then review purchase history and any relevant Family Sharing settings.
