The Aurora Teagarden Mysteries returned with a prequel series starring Skyler Samuels as a younger Aurora, rather than continuing Candace Cameron Bure’s older-Aurora storyline. Hallmark lists three films in the new run, through Death at the Diner (2025); its official listings do not confirm another film after that.
What changed after Candace Cameron Bure’s films?
The newer films shift the story to Aurora’s earlier years. Hallmark identifies Something New as a prequel: young Aurora returns to Lawrenceton after college to pursue a postgraduate degree. Skyler Samuels plays Aurora, alongside Evan Roderick and Marilu Henner. Hallmark’s film page calls it a “prequel movie.”

This is a younger version of the character, not a continuation of Bure’s older Aurora. The previous run included Haunted by Murder, which aired February 20, 2022 and starred Bure, Niall Matter and Marilu Henner. Hallmark’s announcement describes that film as based on Charlaine Harris’s Aurora Teagarden book series. Hallmark’s announcement
