Natasha Hamilton announced on 11 October 2024 that she was stepping away from Atomic Kitten after 26 years, saying she wanted to focus on her solo career and other ventures. She described the group’s next performance, on 13 October, as her last Atomic Kitten gig for the foreseeable future—not as the end of the band.
Why is Natasha Hamilton leaving Atomic Kitten?
Hamilton said it had become difficult to balance her commitments to Atomic Kitten with building a solo career. In her 11 October 2024 Instagram statement, she described the decision as a personal choice and said she needed to focus on matters important to her. The contemporaneous reports do not establish a dispute within the group or identify a replacement member.

She marked the end of this chapter by writing: “26 incredible years, writing so many wonderful chapters, but now the time has come for me to close the book on this one.” She also reflected, “The ride hasn’t always been smooth, but I wouldn’t change a single thing.” Both statements were Hamilton’s, reproduced in PerthNow’s report of 14 October 2024.
When was her last Atomic Kitten performance?
At the time of the announcement, Hamilton said her last performance with the group for the foreseeable future would be on Sunday, 13 October 2024. The date was reported by RTÉ, citing the Press Association, and by PerthNow. It was the planned final gig when she announced her departure; it does not establish what the group did afterward.

Atomic Kitten’s history and chart success
Atomic Kitten formed in Liverpool in 1998. According to Universal Music France’s artist biography, the early lineup comprised Liz McClarnon, Heidi Range and Kerry Katona. Hamilton joined in 1999, and Jenny Frost joined in 2001. The membership changed over the group’s history, so references to its lineup depend on the period in question.
The label biography records major UK chart results for the group’s albums and singles:
Rank #2
- KPop Demon Hunters, a Netflix film from Sony Pictures Animation, follows K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey
- Right Now, released in 2000, reached No. 1 on the UK albums chart.
- Feels So Good reached No. 1 on the UK albums chart in 2002; Ladies Night reached No. 5.
- “Whole Again” and “Eternal Flame” reached No. 1 on the UK singles chart.
- “The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling)” also reached No. 1 in the UK chart context described by the biography.
These are chart positions, not sales figures. The label biography identifies Right Now as the group’s debut album.
