Ariana Grande sold the Montecito property known as the Porter House for $9.1 million in an off-market deal in 2022. A report by Global Property Agency Magazine names Michael Kives as the buyer, while Mansion Global reported that the purchaser used a trust and did not identify the person behind it. The house’s unusual story reaches back to two 18th-century barns in England.
How much did Ariana Grande sell the Montecito house for?
The Porter House sold for $9.1 million. Mansion Global, citing newly registered PropertyShark records, reported that the transaction closed at the end of August 2022; Architectural Digest reported the sale on September 29, 2022. It was an off-market transaction, not a current listing.
Grande had bought the property from Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi in 2020. Reports put that purchase at $6.75 million or, rounded, $6.8 million. Using the $6.75 million figure, Mansion Global calculated a gross sale-price spread of about $2.35 million. That is not verified profit: the reporting does not establish taxes, transaction costs, improvements, or the costs of owning the house.
Who bought Ariana Grande’s Montecito house?
Global Property Agency Magazine identified the buyer as Michael Kives, founder of K5 Global. Mansion Global described the purchaser as a trust and did not name the individual behind it. The reviewed coverage does not include a primary deed record establishing the named-buyer claim, so Kives’s identification should be understood as attribution to the magazine’s report.

What is the history of the Porter House?
The house reportedly began as two separate 18th-century barns in Surrey, England. The structures were moved to California and joined in Montecito during the 1980s; an orangery connects the two sections. That adaptation gives the property a distinctive architectural history behind its sale headline.
What was the Montecito property like?
Coverage described a home of roughly 5,500 square feet on 1.35 acres, with two bedrooms. Published bathroom counts differ: Mansion Global and Global Property Agency Magazine reported three, while Architectural Digest listed two full and two half bathrooms.
