Yes. Mail-order record clubs still exist, especially as vinyl subscriptions. Blind Tiger Record Club is a confirmed example: it mails monthly records through prepaid plans and lets members choose a genre or style. Columbia House, by contrast, is ending new music orders after September 15, 2026; its site says book purchases can continue.
Which mail-order record clubs are available?
Blind Tiger Record Club
Blind Tiger describes itself as “a vinyl record subscription box service.” Its official membership page describes prepaid three-, six-, and twelve-month plans with monthly mailed records. Subscribers choose a style, and the club sends monthly choices by email.
This is not an entirely hands-off surprise: members can change their style before the 25th. Blind Tiger says subscribers who make their selection by that date generally ship near the end of the month, though delivery timing varies. Check the club’s current terms for details that may affect your location or plan.
Vinyl Me, Please
Vinyl Me, Please has also listed a Crate Subscription as a monthly record-of-the-month membership, with an exclusive record delivered monthly and cancellation available. However, its product page could not be verified directly, and the available listing may be stale. Treat it as a possible option, not a confirmed currently available subscription; check its Crate Subscription page before signing up.

Is Columbia House still a music club?
No. Columbia House’s official site says, “After 9/15/26, The Columbia House will no longer be accepting new orders.” That cutoff applies to new orders; the same site says customers can still purchase books using a card or credits. It does not mean the former music club is continuing.
How do today’s clubs differ from the old record-club model?
Columbia Record Club began in 1955. Pitchfork describes its historical offer as low-cost introductory LP sets tied to later full-cost purchases, a model that drew criticism over negative-option billing. That history should not be assumed to describe present-day vinyl subscriptions: the current terms need to be assessed club by club.

Columbia House’s scale is often summarized as 16 million members, but the year is inconsistent across accounts. Pitchfork reports 1996, while SPIN says the company reached that number by 1999. Neither date should be presented as settled without resolving the discrepancy. Pitchfork’s history and SPIN’s account provide the respective figures.

- Commitment: Blind Tiger lists prepaid terms of three, six, or twelve months. Confirm whether the plan renews and what cancellation means before paying.
- Choice: Check whether you select a genre or a specific album, and whether selections can be changed or skipped before a cutoff.
- Timing: Find out when selections lock, when records ship, and whether the delivery estimate applies to your address.
- Price and eligibility: Compare current total costs, shipping, and geographic availability directly with each club; the available sources do not establish a reliable current price comparison.
These are vinyl subscriptions, not evidence that Amazon operates a record club. The documented product is the mailed vinyl record itself.
