“Aquaman 2” is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, James Wan’s 2023 sequel. DC lists its North American theatrical opening as December 22, 2023. The official trailer, cast details and current home-viewing signposts are on DC’s Aquaman film page and Aquaman hub.
Is Aquaman 2 the same as Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom?

What is the release date?
DC lists December 22, 2023 as the film’s North American theatrical opening. Its release information also describes an international opening beginning that day, but dates and materials can vary by market. Warner Bros. Japan provides Japan-specific information, so a single date should not be treated as a universal local release date.
What is the story about?
DC’s official synopsis places Arthur Curry between his responsibilities as King of Atlantis and life as a new father. Black Manta, still seeking revenge, takes up the Black Trident. To face the threat, Arthur turns to his imprisoned brother Orm for help.
Where can you watch or buy it now?
DC’s Aquaman hub says the film is available to own digitally and on disc. The precise retailer, edition, price and local stock are not established by that general listing.
- Digital: DC confirms digital availability, but does not specify current retailer offers or whether a particular service offers rental or purchase in your territory.
- Blu-ray and DVD: Warner Bros. Japan lists both formats for its market. That does not establish a specific US edition or current retailer inventory.
- Streaming: Warner Bros. Discovery Canada announced a Max streaming debut for February 27, 2024. That is a dated, Canada-specific launch, not confirmation of current availability in every country. DC’s hub also points viewers to Max; check your local catalog for present availability.
For physical media, the sources establish Blu-ray and DVD availability in Japan and a broader DC statement that the film is on disc. They do not establish a particular edition or current stock in other regions.
