Is Apple TV+’s Time Bandits the same as the 1981 film?
No. The 2024 series is a television adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s 1981 film, not the film itself. Apple lists the movie separately from the series. The distinction matters when looking for a copy: Criterion’s Time Bandits catalog page covers physical editions of the 1981 film, including 4K UHD + Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD; the 4K edition includes a restoration and special features.
