Hall recalled joining SNL at 17; in the 2025 series, he plays a father and businessman tied to the criminal operation Reacher investigates.
Who does Anthony Michael Hall play in Reacher Season 3?
Hall plays Zachary Beck, a successful businessman who imports rugs through a company called Bizarre Bazaar. Beck is also a single father to Richard. Amazon’s cast guide places the company at the center of the illegal operation that Reacher investigates.
Hall described Beck as a rug importer involved in other activity, while steering clear of spoilers in an interview with Entrepreneur. The character’s family role and criminal ties put him in a dramatically different position from Hall’s work as part of a sketch-comedy ensemble.
What is Reacher Season 3 based on?
The season adapts Lee Child’s Persuader. A 2025 Zoomer interview with Hall identifies it as the seventh novel in Child’s Jack Reacher series and reports that Hall appears in all eight episodes.

Hall told Zoomer that he had watched the first season before taking the role. He said he related to Beck’s experience of fatherhood, while also recognizing the character’s criminality and emotional pain; that is Hall’s own reading of the role, not a claim about how every viewer will respond.
Amazon’s cast guide identifies Prime Video as the season’s exclusive streaming home. Availability can change by date and location. For readers curious about the story behind the adaptation, Persuader is the source novel.

What year was SNL Season 11, and how did Hall remember it?
Season 11 covered 1985–1986. Hall’s retrospective was mixed: he remembered the opportunity with enthusiasm, but also described a difficult reception for the season. “We just got really bashed by the critics and all that,” he told CGMagazine. That is Hall’s recollection, not a quantified measure of ratings or critical opinion.
Hall also described Lorne Michaels’s return as executive producer after a five-year absence as part of a pivotal period for the program. His comments offer a personal account of the season rather than an episode-by-episode history.

How do the two roles show Hall’s career range?
| Career period | Work and format | Hall’s role or perspective |
|---|---|---|
| 1985–1986 | Saturday Night Live Season 11; ensemble sketch comedy | Hall recalled joining the cast at 17 and later remembering critical backlash. The season guide lists him among the cast but does not establish his billing in every episode. |
| 2025 | Reacher Season 3; serialized drama based on Persuader | Hall plays Zachary Beck, a father and businessman whose company is bound up in the season’s illegal operation. Zoomer reports that he appears in all eight episodes. |
The comparison is not simply comedy versus drama. On SNL, Hall joined a rotating ensemble at the start of his adult career; in Reacher, he inhabits a character whose family life and criminal entanglements drive part of a continuing story. His own recollections connect the periods: the excitement of being on SNL as a teenager sits alongside the more layered dramatic challenge he described in discussing Beck.
