The City’s post-event recap says more than 6,000 people gathered on the lawns at Joondalup Resort for the tribute to Elton John and George Michael.
What happened at Joondalup Resort?
The City of Joondalup organised the concert at Joondalup Resort in Connolly on Thursday, 12 February 2026. Callea and Campbell brought their show, The Songs of Elton & George, to the Valentine’s Concert after what the City’s November 2025 announcement described as 38 sold-out shows across Australia. That tour figure is the organiser’s claim.
In its recap, the City reported that more than 6,000 people attended. Its account also confirmed that the performance included songs associated with both artists, including “Careless Whisper,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Faith,” “Rocket Man,” “Freedom,” “Your Song,” “I’m Still Standing,” “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” and “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me.”
Who are Anthony Callea and Tim Campbell?
The City’s announcement described Callea as having 20 years in music and eight albums. It presented the concert as a tribute led by the two performers, with a live band. The show drew on the distinctive catalogues and performance styles of Elton John and George Michael rather than presenting itself as a documentary or a biography of either artist.
