The headline refers to a family update reported by PerthNow on 17 July 2024: Allanah Alison said her daughter Daisy had been unconscious and completely non-responsive in hospital for more than 40 hours. The report said doctors were trying to determine what had happened; it did not establish a medical cause.
What was reported about the 40-plus-hour episode?
In its 17 July 2024 report, PerthNow quoted Alison’s social-media update: “Without going into too much detail, Daisy has been unconscious and completely non-responsive for 40+ hours.” The report said Daisy was in hospital, had experienced frequent seizures and was described as living with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).
Alison said doctors were unsure what had caused the deterioration and were working to find an answer. The account was attributed to the family; the report did not provide clinical records or confirm a cause. It is therefore not possible from that report to say why Daisy became unresponsive.
What did Alison report in later updates?
Later 2024 coverage described further family updates. These reports record what Alison said at the time, rather than establishing Daisy’s present health status.

In January 2025, the ABC reported that an unnamed 34-year-old Queensland influencer faced charges including multiple counts of administering poison with intent to harm, and one count each of torture, making child exploitation material and fraud. ABC did not name the accused in that coverage to protect the child. The identity and charges should not be used to retroactively infer a cause for Daisy’s July 2024 episode.

On 28 April 2025, the ABC reported that the case had been described in court as large and complex and would require expert testimony; a further mention was listed for 23 June 2025. That listing is not a current case update. The latest procedural report cited here is from April 2025, and a later outcome has not been established.

- The “more than 40 hours” wording comes from Alison’s July 2024 family update as quoted by PerthNow.
- The report connected the family’s account to Daisy’s reported TSC diagnosis and seizures, but did not establish the cause of her unresponsive episode.
- Later family updates reported a period exceeding 100 hours, surgeries and a move to home palliative care in September 2024; they do not establish Daisy’s current condition.
- ABC’s 2025 coverage described charges and prosecution allegations, which must not be treated as proven facts or as a confirmed explanation of the July episode.
