La presentación se realizó en el United Palace, en Washington Heights, como parte de la conmemoración del 15.º aniversario de Fashion Designers of Latin America (FDLA), un hito relacionado pero distinto.
Una retrospectiva de piezas emblemáticas
La pasarela reunió algunos de los motivos más reconocibles del universo visual de Ruiz de la Prada: corazones, estrellas, flores, rayas y rombos, en tonos fucsia, azul real, amarillo y rojo. La crónica de People en Español describió el desfile como una selección retrospectiva, no como el lanzamiento de una colección nueva.
Entre las modelos estuvo Aleska Génesis, con un top adornado por un corazón tridimensional y una falda escalonada. El cierre estuvo a cargo de Yohana Vargas, influencer y creadora de contenido colombo-venezolana, en una pieza de archivo especialmente ligada a la diseñadora.

Vargas lució un vestido de seda bordado con los ojos, la nariz y la boca de Ruiz de la Prada, junto con una pieza para el cabello que simulaba el de la diseñadora. La prenda pertenecía a la colección primavera-verano de 2013: volvió a la pasarela en 2024 como parte de la retrospectiva, pero no era una creación nueva de ese año.

Después del desfile, Vargas dijo: “Es un sueño cumplido. Mi primera vez en New York Fashion Week desfilando para una de las diseñadoras más top del mundo, con el vestido más especial para ella, ya que llevaba su rostro. Tuve el privilegio de cerrar su desfile e ir agarrada de su mano. No tengo más que sentir agradecimiento”.
Dónde se celebró y qué significaban los 15 años
En una entrevista publicada por ¡HOLA! el 30 de septiembre de 2024, Ruiz de la Prada situó la presentación en el United Palace, en la calle 175 de Washington Heights. Explicó que allí se organizaron los 15 años de FDLA y que la invitaron a desfilar.

Conviene distinguir las dos efemérides: People en Español atribuyó a la diseñadora 15 años participando en NYFW; el aniversario de FDLA era el marco del evento. La cobertura y la entrevista sitúan el desfile en una presentación organizada por FDLA, por lo que no hay que confundirlo con una edición oficial del calendario principal de NYFW.

La marca registró una participación distinta en FDLA New York Fashion Week del 9 al 15 de febrero de 2025. Esa presentación mostró la propuesta otoño-invierno 2025/26, confeccionada con material reciclado según el sitio oficial, e incluyó carritos de compra Rolser. No fue parte de la retrospectiva de septiembre de 2024.
