TNA Wrestling is a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, according to official descriptions published in 2025. Its path there runs from the Jarrett family’s launch of the promotion, through a majority-share purchase by Panda Energy in 2002, to Anthem’s majority-interest acquisition agreement in 2017. The sources establish those broad changes, but not exact ownership percentages.

Who owns TNA Wrestling now?

Official descriptions from WWE Corporate on January 16, 2025, and TNA Wrestling on December 2, 2025, identify TNA as a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment. TNA’s announcement also describes the promotion as a division of Anthem Sports Group. These are the latest ownership descriptions established here; they do not disclose an equity percentage or document every legal restructuring. WWE’s announcement separately describes a multi-year partnership with TNA, not a purchase of the promotion. TNA’s announcement likewise identifies Anthem as its parent.

How did TNA’s ownership change?

Date What the sources establish What they do not establish
2002 A contemporaneous Pro Wrestling Torch report said a Panda Energy official confirmed that Panda bought a majority share of NWA-TNA from the Jarrett family. The report said the Jarretts were believed to retain a minority interest. Pro Wrestling Torch, October 31, 2002. No confirmed percentage; the Jarretts’ continuing minority stake was reported as a belief, not established as a precise figure.
October–November 2016 Anthem described providing a working-capital loan and later a credit facility. An Anthem executive joined Impact Ventures’ board of managers. Anthem and Billy Corgan then announced that Anthem had acquired Corgan’s loan to Impact Ventures on undisclosed terms. Anthem’s October 19 announcement, its November 3 announcement, and its November 28 announcement. These financing and governance developments do not establish an equity percentage or, by themselves, prove an ownership transfer.
January 2017 Anthem announced a definitive agreement to acquire a majority interest in TNA IMPACT Wrestling. Dixie Carter would step down as Impact Ventures chair and join the advisory board of Anthem’s Fight Media Group. Anthem, January 4, 2017. The announcement gives no exact stake percentage.
2025 Official descriptions identify TNA as an Anthem subsidiary; TNA also calls itself a division of Anthem Sports Group. WWE Corporate, January 16, 2025; TNA, December 2, 2025. The descriptions do not specify a percentage or provide a complete ownership ledger.

Did Panda Energy own TNA?

Yes. The October 31, 2002 contemporaneous report says a Panda Energy official confirmed the company bought a majority share of NWA-TNA from the Jarrett family. The report does not confirm an exact share, so claims of a specific percentage go beyond what this source establishes. It also says the Jarretts were believed to have retained a minority interest, which should be treated as qualified reporting rather than a confirmed stake.

When did Anthem buy TNA?

Anthem’s ownership transition followed a period of financial involvement in 2016. Its announcements document a working-capital loan, a credit facility, an Anthem executive’s board appointment, and the acquisition of Corgan’s loan on undisclosed terms. Those are evidence of financing and influence, not proof of a particular equity share. The clearest ownership milestone is Anthem’s January 4, 2017 announcement that it had entered a definitive agreement to acquire a majority interest in TNA IMPACT Wrestling. The announcement does not publish the percentage.

TNA Wrestling: The Best of Raven - Nevermore [DVD]
  • The famous Edgar Allen Poe quote has served as Raven s trademark for many years. Ironically, Raven s legacy in TNA Wrestling may mirror that of the writer, as he spirals into madness in his quest to achieve his self-described destiny to become NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Much like Jim Morrison s personality transcended music, Raven s career has transcended wrestling with a touch of pure evil!

Did Billy Corgan own TNA?

The cited announcements establish Corgan’s financial role as a lender to Impact Ventures, not as an owner of a confirmed equity stake. In November 2016, Anthem said it acquired Corgan’s loan to the company on undisclosed terms. Without a source establishing an equity purchase, it would be inaccurate to describe him as a confirmed TNA owner.

What happened to Dixie Carter’s role?

As part of the January 2017 announcement, Anthem said Carter would resign as chair of Impact Ventures and join the advisory board of Anthem’s Fight Media Group. That records a change in her corporate role; it does not, on its own, reveal the full ownership structure or her precise equity position.

What does “ownership” mean in this history?

Several kinds of involvement can look similar in a timeline but are not interchangeable. A loan or credit facility supplies financing; board representation signals governance involvement; a broadcast or distribution relationship concerns how programming reaches viewers; and an equity acquisition changes ownership. The 2016 announcements describe financing and a board appointment, while the January 2017 announcement expressly describes a majority-interest acquisition agreement. None of the cited announcements gives a precise stake percentage.

The early name NWA-TNA reflects the promotion’s brand and affiliation context; the ownership history here concerns the wrestling promotion and its corporate parent, not a change in ownership of the National Wrestling Alliance. Likewise, on-screen authority figures and storyline power shifts are fictional programming, not evidence of corporate control.
