Adam Nadelhaft and Ben Rottenborn were linked to firms in reporting from 2023, but their present affiliations could not be verified. The available sources also do not establish that any of the lawyers deliberately chose to live outside the spotlight.
Who were Amber Heard’s original trial lawyers?
Heard’s defense team in the Fairfax County, Virginia, defamation trial included Elaine Bredehoft, Adam Nadelhaft, and Ben Rottenborn. The seven-week trial began April 11, 2022, and the jury returned its verdict on June 1, according to The Independent’s May 18, 2023 profile. That report says the jury largely favored Johnny Depp, while finding for Heard on one part of her counterclaim. Both sides appealed before settling in December, the article reports.
Their roles and subsequent career references are not equally well documented. Bredehoft has a current firm biography; the available information about Nadelhaft and Rottenborn comes from dated reporting and should not be mistaken for a current employment update.

Elaine Bredehoft
Bredehoft is listed as a partner on the Charlson Bredehoft Cohen Brown & Nadelhaft team page. The Reston-based firm describes its work as serving individual and corporate clients in employment and business legal matters, with litigation, trial counsel, arbitration, and mediation services. The firm also says it represented Heard in the London litigation and served as lead counsel in the U.S. case, including trial and appeals. That description is the firm’s own account.

Adam Nadelhaft
The Independent’s May 2023 profile identified Nadelhaft as Bredehoft’s co-counsel and a partner at Charlson Bredehoft Cohen Brown & Nadelhaft. The current team page does not include his name. Because a missing listing is not proof of a departure, the sources available do not establish where he works now.
Ben Rottenborn
The Independent described Rottenborn as being with Woods Rogers in May 2023. In August 2022, Vanity Fair reported that he stayed on as co-counsel when Bredehoft left Heard’s appeal team. Those are dated snapshots, not confirmation of his 2026 employment.

Did they purposefully step out of the spotlight?
The available reporting and firm biographies do not establish that Bredehoft, Nadelhaft, or Rottenborn deliberately withdrew from public life or chose a private lifestyle. Fewer prominent media appearances, or limited recent coverage, would not prove such a motive. What can be stated with confidence is narrower: Bredehoft has a current public firm listing, while current affiliations for Nadelhaft and Rottenborn have not been confirmed by the cited sources.
