Yes. The Wheel of Time ended after three seasons, and trade reports in May 2025 said it would not return for Season 4. The reports cited cost and viewership performance as factors, but no official corporate explanation was established in the sources available.
Was The Wheel of Time canceled?
Yes. TheWrap reported on May 23, 2025, that the series would not return for a fourth season; Variety reported the cancellation after three seasons on May 25. These were reports of the decision, rather than a public cancellation announcement from Amazon.
There is no Season 4 on Prime Video established by those reports. The sources reviewed also do not establish a revival, a new home for the series, or a season-four plan.
Why did Amazon cancel the series?
TheWrap reported that the show was believed to be too expensive to justify in light of its viewership performance. It also reported that Season 3 dropped off Nielsen’s Top 10 originals chart after three weeks, then appeared once more after the finale launched. That is trade reporting about the decision’s possible business context, not a confirmed official rationale.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins said he did not know why the series was canceled. In a June 6, 2025 Instagram statement quoted by TV Insider, he said: “And the truth is, I don’t know.” Judkins also said the cast and crew had been fortunate to make a show watched by large audiences, “appearing in the Nielsen Top 10 for nearly 20 weeks.” That nearly-20-weeks figure is Judkins’ statement as relayed by TV Insider, not independently verified Nielsen data here.
Will there be a Season 4?
The May 2025 reports said the series would not return for Season 4. No revival or continuation plan is established by the sources reviewed, so there is no confirmed fourth season to watch for.

The TV series adapts Robert Jordan’s fantasy novels. Sony Pictures Entertainment’s October 2, 2018 announcement said the books had sold more than 90 million copies worldwide at that time; that is a historical figure, not a current sales total. If you want to continue exploring the story, the novels are the direct source material—not a newly produced continuation of the canceled television series.
