Alex Pereira replied to Merle Christine after she celebrated Magomed Ankalaev’s win over him at UFC 313. Pereira lost the light-heavyweight title by unanimous decision in March 2025; reports of the social-media exchange say he told Christine to stop mentioning his name, adding that her husband might become jealous, and ending with “chama.”

What Merle Christine posted
Christine, described in the coverage as Pereira’s former partner, publicly celebrated Ankalaev’s victory and called the outcome karma. UppercutMMA quoted her reaction in English as: “We have a new light heavyweight champion. No more Chama. Karma. He lost on international women’s day. Maybe that’s a sign guys.” The quoted wording is reported by secondary coverage; the original post was not independently verified here.
How Pereira replied
In a reported social-media reply, Pereira addressed Christine and said she should stop mentioning his name because her husband might become jealous, ending with “chama.” EssentiallySports, reporting on March 10, 2025, attributed this wording to him: “I think she should stop mentioning my name [because] her husband might get jealous, chama.” As with Christine’s remarks, this quotation comes from secondary reporting rather than independent access to the original post.

What reports say about their relationship
The coverage also recounts conflicting accounts of the former couple’s private history. Pereira previously said he learned Christine was married during their relationship; the reports say Christine disputed his account. That allegation and response are not independently established by the social-media exchange, so they should be understood as attributed claims, not settled facts.
