Fans discussing AEW WrestleDream 2025 voiced enthusiasm for the announced card, floated possible matchups and additions, and debated pacing after the show. Those comments offer snapshots of individual opinions—not evidence of a single fan consensus or a ranked list of the most-requested matches.
What fans were asking for before WrestleDream
In pre-event discussions, some commenters praised the card while others raised hopes for additions or future matchups. One commenter said they wanted to see Kenny Omega live and suggested a possible match with Josh Alexander. A separate thread snippet mentioned hopes for Kyle Fletcher versus Kenny Omega and a desire to see Adam Page defend his title on television. These are examples of individual wishes, not proof that any matchup was widely demanded.
The wording in the threads was conversational: fans asked what others thought of the card and its matches. That makes the discussion useful for seeing the kinds of questions viewers were weighing, but it does not establish which match people wanted most.
What happened at the event
WrestleDream took place on October 18, 2025, at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri. AEW’s official recap records Darby Allin defeating Jon Moxley in an I Quit match, Kris Statlander retaining the AEW Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm, and AEW World Champion Adam Page defeating Samoa Joe. The recap also describes The Opps attacking Page after his match and Sting returning during Allin and Moxley’s bout.

Those results provide the context for reading the fan discussion: pre-show hopes were about what viewers wanted to see, while the completed card and its aftermath shaped the reactions afterward. The event included a multi-match lineup with title bouts, tag matches, a $500,000 match, and the I Quit match.
Match enthusiasm and pacing concerns
Not every fan comment focused on adding a dream matchup. A user comment on CAGEMATCH’s event page recommended starting with Kyle Fletcher versus Mark Briscoe, saying earlier matches made for a long wait. That is one viewer’s match-prioritization and pacing opinion; it should not be mistaken for a general demand or an authoritative review.

Post-event discussion was mixed in the sampled Reddit and CAGEMATCH material. Some commenters praised individual matches or the card overall, while others criticized match quality, runtime, or AEW’s booking patterns. The comments therefore show disagreement, not a clear verdict that fans were either uniformly satisfied or disappointed.

What the comments can—and cannot—tell you
- They show a range of interests: card excitement, possible wrestler-versus-wrestler matchups, title defenses, and the order or length of the show.
- They do not rank requests: the available comments do not establish a most-requested match or quantify how common any hope was.
- They are not a representative survey: Reddit threads and user-submitted CAGEMATCH comments reflect the people who chose to post, not AEW’s wider audience.
- Pre-event hopes and post-event reactions are different evidence: wanting a matchup before the show does not establish how viewers judged the matches they ultimately saw.
