West later reportedly gave her a 20-carat upgrade in 2016, but that was not a new engagement. The weights and design details below come from published reports, not independently verified gem certificates.
2011: Kris Humphries’s reported 20.5-carat ring
In May 2011, NBA player Kris Humphries proposed to Kardashian at her Beverly Hills home. CBS News reported that the ring was a 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. Kardashian told People, as quoted by CBS, “I didn’t expect this at all.” CBS News’ report on the 2011 engagement
ABC News described the design as an emerald-cut center diamond flanked by two 2-carat trapezoid diamonds, with a reported total weight of 20.5 carats. Those are the outlet’s reported specifications; they are not a substitute for a gemological grading report. ABC News’ description of the ring
2013: Kanye West’s reported 15-carat ring
In October 2013, West proposed at San Francisco’s AT&T Park with a Lorraine Schwartz ring. CBS News called it a 15-carat “square-cut” diamond. Vogue later described the stone more specifically as cushion-cut, D color and flawless. A cushion cut has a broadly square or rectangular outline with softened, rounded corners, so the outlets’ shape descriptions need not mean there were two different rings. 2016: a reported upgrade, not another engagement
Marie Claire reported that West gave Kardashian a 20-carat upgrade in 2016, and that it was stolen during the Paris robbery that year. This later ring should be distinguished from the 2013 engagement ring: the report describes it as an upgrade, not a new proposal. The cited coverage does not establish an independently verified grade, exact design, or current location for the upgrade. Marie Claire’s report on celebrity engagement rings

What the timeline establishes—and what it does not
The two proposals are distinct: Humphries’s in 2011 and West’s in 2013. Vogue lists Kardashian and West’s marriage in May 2014 and their divorce in February 2021. Vogue’s listing and timeline
The 2016 ring belongs in the story as a reported upgrade, rather than as a third engagement ring. The available reporting does not establish full provenance, independent grading certificates, or the present ownership or location of the rings. The custom Lorraine Schwartz jewelry should not be confused with a mass-market ring or assumed to be available as an exact replica.
