Ryan Gosling was reported in April 2025 to be attached as a producer on a remake of the 1988 horror-comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space at Amazon MGM Studios. That is a report, not a verified studio announcement—and it does not mean Gosling will star in or direct the film.
What was reported about the remake?
On April 14, 2025, The InSneider published an item whose headline identified Gosling as a producer on a Killer Klowns from Outer Space remake at Amazon MGM Studios. The item is behind a subscriber paywall in the accessible page. The following day, Gizmodo’s Gordon Jackson described the newsletter’s report as saying Gosling was attached to produce a remake of the 1988 film at the studio. The InSneider’s April 14 report and Gizmodo’s April 15 account are the available sources for the claim.
“Attached to produce” describes a reported producing role. It is not evidence that Gosling is expected to appear on screen or direct the movie.
What is confirmed—and what remains unknown?
The available reporting connects the proposed remake to Amazon MGM Studios and the 1988 original. It does not establish that the studio officially announced the project. Nor does it identify a director, cast, production start, or release date.

The cited accounts also do not verify whether the project remains active or has progressed since April 2025. The lack of a newer update in these sources is not proof that the film was canceled—or that it is moving forward unchanged.
Why Gosling’s reported role matters
Gosling’s name may prompt speculation about a lead performance, but the report supports only his reported attachment as a producer. Without a casting announcement, treating him as the remake’s star would go beyond what the sources say. The same distinction applies to directing: no directing role is reported in the accessible coverage.

The “intriguing A-lister” angle is the reported connection to Gosling, not confirmation of a finished production or a particular creative direction. For now, the careful description is that a remake was reported in April 2025, with Gosling attached to produce and Amazon MGM Studios named as the studio. Further details require a more recent, attributable announcement or report.
