Zephalto advertises a six-hour balloon flight to 25 km above Earth, with a gastronomic experience aboard. Its current published price is €180,000 per guest—not the $132,000 figure still seen in older promotional coverage. The company’s June 2026 terms said its first flights were sold out through autumn 2027, with later flight windows beginning in November 2027; availability can change.
Can you really have dinner in the stratosphere?
Zephalto’s offer is a balloon flight carrying passengers in a pressurized capsule, not a rocket launch. The company says the capsule rises to 25 km above Earth, where guests can see the planet’s curvature. It includes a gastronomic experience aboard, and Zephalto says meals are designed and cooked by French chefs. These are company descriptions of the planned experience, not independent confirmation of completed passenger flights.
The company’s experience page lists a six-hour signature flight, a meal aboard, an opening ceremony and a closing celebration. Its catalogue also describes a meal before flight, guided wine tasting in flight, private capsule celebrations and guided stratospheric photography.
How high does the balloon go, and how long is the flight?
Zephalto advertises an apogee of 25 km. Its published itinerary estimates six hours in total: about 1.5 hours ascending, three hours at altitude and 1.5 hours descending. The company also describes an ascent rate of 4 metres per second. These are advertised figures, not independently verified operating results.

How much does the Zephalto flight cost?
Zephalto’s current experience page lists €180,000 per guest. Its June 2026 terms specify €180,000 per participant, including taxes, and an initial prepayment of €10,000. The older $132,000 headline remains in the company homepage’s news list, but it is not the current published price. When can passengers book a flight?
In its June 2026 terms, Zephalto said its first flights were sold out through autumn 2027 and listed the next flight windows from November 2027 onward. The company also says those windows may shift as seats sell and as its roadmap changes, so this is a dated availability statement rather than a guaranteed schedule.
What is the capsule like, and what is established about safety?
Zephalto describes Céleste as the larger of its two capsules, with three private cabins for two guests each. The company presents it as a pressurized module designed for stratospheric travel; see its capsule description.

Zephalto makes capsule certification and safety-standard claims on its site. The available company pages do not independently establish the current regulator certification status or confirm that public commercial passenger flights have taken place. CNES’s 2024 publication describes Zephalto as a French startup founded in 2016 to develop Céleste and notes agency expertise and access to testing facilities; that historical account is not proof of current passenger-flight certification or completed commercial operations.
