Belinda Rygier offered advice after Annie Knight said she had slept with 300 people in a year, but PerthNow’s report does not establish that Knight has a sex addiction. The figure is Knight’s reported personal claim; Rygier’s comments were her opinion, not a clinical assessment.
What Annie Knight said about the 300-person claim
In a PerthNow report published on 25 July 2023, Knight was quoted discussing her claim on The Kyle and Jackie O Show. PerthNow reported that she said she had slept with 300 people in a year, described in the related coverage as 300 men and women. The number is a statement attributed to Knight, not an independently verified count. Read PerthNow’s 25 July report.
Knight framed the experience positively, saying, “I feel empowered afterwards,” and, “Sex makes me feel good. It’s meant to make you feel good.” Those statements describe her own view; they do not settle how another person should interpret her behavior.
What Belinda Rygier advised
PerthNow’s 29 July 2023 report described Rygier as a reformed sex addict and professional love coach. It said she was responding to Knight’s public comments and quoted Rygier speaking about the issue in a recent Daily Mail interview. The underlying interview was not directly reviewed for the PerthNow report’s account.

Rygier said Knight might see her behavior as empowered and freely chosen. She added that she had “no judgment” and hoped that was the case for Knight, while suggesting that, in her view, apparent empowerment can sometimes conceal “something deeper.” Rygier also said some people genuinely enjoy sex and that there can be “a fine line between enjoyment and addiction.” These were general reflections and speculation—not a finding about Knight.
Rygier also described her own experience: “I know the darkness that sex addiction brings. Not only the internal pain, but the external judgment. It’s why I took years to heal my addiction.” That is personal testimony about Rygier, not evidence of Knight’s circumstances or a quantified research finding. Read PerthNow’s 29 July report.

Does the report say Annie Knight is addicted to sex?
No. The report records Knight’s account and Rygier’s opinion, but it does not report a clinical assessment of Knight or establish that she has an addiction. Rygier’s concern that empowerment can sometimes mask a deeper issue should not be recast as a diagnosis.
The distinction matters: a person’s sexual choices, their own description of those choices, and a clinical assessment are different things. The reporting establishes what Knight and Rygier were quoted as saying; it does not provide a basis for deciding Knight’s mental health or needs.
