Airbnb announced an X-Men ’97-themed experience in 2024: a 2D animated recreation of the X-Mansion in Westchester, New York, where guests could explore the setting and train in the Danger Room. It was a real promotional experience, but the available sources do not confirm that it can still be booked.
Was the Airbnb X-Mansion real?
Yes—as a themed promotional experience, not a literal mutant school or a claim that guests would gain powers. Airbnb’s May 1, 2024 announcement placed the X-Mansion among the first 11 experiences in its new Icons category, describing it as a “2D animated re-creation” of Marvel Animation’s mansion in Westchester, New York. The company said guests would discover their mutant abilities and train in the Danger Room. Airbnb’s announcement supplies the official description.
The title’s “X-Perience” is wordplay on the themed stay and the fictional danger of the X-Men universe. The announcement describes an immersive recreation; it does not establish that guests faced actual danger.
What was included in the X-Men ’97 experience?
Airbnb’s official description specifically names the animated mansion setting and Danger Room training. Additional program details appeared in contemporaneous media coverage, rather than in the accessible text of Airbnb’s release.

The scale and price statements in Airbnb’s launch announcement applied to Icons as a category, not specifically to the X-Mansion: the company said more than 4,000 tickets would be available across Icons during 2024 and that experiences would be free or cost less than US$100 per guest. Those are historical launch terms, not a current booking offer or an X-Mansion-specific price.
Can you still book the X-Men Airbnb?
The sources establish the 2024 announcement and its original request process, but do not confirm current availability. The launch information is not evidence that the X-Mansion remains open to requests, so check Airbnb for a current listing before making plans; no present-day listing or price is established here.

A related X-Men ’97 activity
For a way to engage with the setting outside a stay, Marvel published official X-Men ’97 character material for the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game. Its May 20, 2024 PDF includes Jubilee and identifies the X-Mansion as her base. That makes the tabletop game a thematic extension, not a replacement for the Airbnb experience; the cited material does not establish current physical-product availability.
