The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 — November 11, Prime Video
Amazon’s announcement places the season several years after Season 2, at the height of the War of the Elves. Its official description says, “The third season takes place several years after the events of Season 2 at the height of the War of the Elves.” The series is set in Tolkien’s Second Age, thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Those books offer related background reading, rather than being direct adaptations of the series.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — December 25, HBO / HBO Max where available
Warner Bros. Discovery lists the premiere for December 25 and describes it as an eight-episode first season in its announcement. HBO says the series will be available on HBO Max where the service is available, so access depends on territory.
