Ryan Reynolds confirmed in July 2024 that his and Blake Lively’s fourth child, Olin, is a boy. The couple’s baby was reported born in February 2023, but Reynolds did not publicly reveal the child’s name until more than a year later.
What did Ryan Reynolds confirm?
Reynolds confirmed that Olin, his and Lively’s fourth child, is a boy. He shared the news in a video conversation with John Bell, whose son Jake had died. Coverage by E! News and The Independent reported the exchange, in which Reynolds connected his love for his own son with Bell’s love for Jake.
When did the couple reveal the name Olin?
Reynolds named all four of his children—James, Inez, Betty and Olin—during remarks at the New York premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine on July 22, 2024. News reports published the following day covered the name reveal. ABC News and the Los Angeles Times reported that the couple’s three older children are James, Inez and Betty.
Why was the news shared more than a year after the birth?
Reports said the couple welcomed their fourth child in February 2023. Reynolds had previously said there was no formal birth announcement; observers inferred that the baby had arrived from a photo Lively posted after the birth. That distinction matters: the photo was not described as an explicit announcement. ABC News reported Reynolds’s earlier comments in February 2023.
