How Connections works
Connections presents 16 words and asks players to sort them into four groups of four that share a connection, according to the New York Times Help Center. The four colors indicate difficulty: yellow is the easiest and purple the trickiest. Some words can seem to fit more than one category, so the task is to find the intended set of four.
