Spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga’s final battle and ending. Yes: Sukuna is defeated in Chapter 268 when Yuji’s attacks on the boundary between Sukuna’s soul and Megumi’s succeed in separating them. A September 2024 report on the chapter describes Yuji offering Sukuna a way back, Sukuna refusing, and his existence disappearing. The final finger is not proof that Sukuna returns; the official volume listings do not explain what it means.
How is Sukuna defeated?
Yuji’s decisive strategy is to target the boundary between Sukuna’s soul and Megumi Fushiguro’s. VIZ’s description of the final volume says Itadori attacks that seam to separate the two. The battle’s resolution comes in Chapter 268, titled “決着” in Shueisha’s Japanese contents list.

A September 3, 2024 report by MeriStation describes Yuji saying goodbye without hatred and offering Sukuna a way back. Sukuna rejects the offer, and his existence disappears. This account supports the broad outcome; consult the official English chapter for exact dialogue and panel details.
Does Sukuna come back after Chapter 268?
The official material cited here establishes that Sukuna is defeated in Chapter 268, but it does not confirm a later return. Shueisha’s Volume 30 contents listing places Chapters 269–271 and an epilogue after Chapter 268. Those closing sections continue the story after the battle; their placement alone does not establish that Sukuna comes back.

What does the last finger mean?
The ending’s final finger invites speculation, but the official final-volume synopsis and contents list do not explain its significance. They do not confirm that Sukuna survives in it, nor do they rule out every possible return. The careful reading is to treat it as an unresolved ending image, not confirmation of a sequel or Sukuna’s return.
Where does Sukuna’s defeat fit in the manga’s ending?
Chapter 268 resolves the fight, not the entire series. Shueisha lists Chapter 269, “夢の終わり,” Chapter 270, “夢の終わり,” and Chapter 271, “これから,” followed by an epilogue in the Japanese final volume; the publisher page gives these titles in Japanese, so English renderings should not be treated as official translations. MeriStation also describes Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi reunited after the battle.
