While Yuji fights Sukuna, she uses her Straw Doll Technique’s Resonance on Sukuna’s final finger, disrupting him and creating an opening for Yuji. Her return answers whether she survived the Shibuya Incident, and gives Yuji crucial help in the final battle.
How did Nobara come back?
After Mahito injured Nobara during the Shibuya Incident, the story left her fate uncertain. Chapter 267 reveals that she is alive and able to act again. She does not rejoin the fight in person: she intervenes remotely from Jujutsu High, using Sukuna’s final finger as the target for her technique. The reveal comes late in the final battle, after Yuji has been fighting Sukuna. VIZ’s official Chapter 267 listing places it between chapters 266 and 268 in the manga’s late-series sequence; the listing gives September 1, 2024, as its date.
How did Nobara hurt Sukuna?
Nobara uses Resonance, part of her Straw Doll Technique, on Sukuna’s final finger. The finger provides the target through which her attack reaches Sukuna while Yuji is confronting him. The sequence’s key tactical chain is simple: the finger is the target, Resonance carries the attack to Sukuna, and the interruption gives Yuji an opening.

Nobara’s intervention is a consequential assist, not a solo defeat of Sukuna. Yuji remains the active combatant in the confrontation; her attack helps change the moment in which he can press his fight.
What was Sukuna’s final finger for?
It gives Nobara a connection to Sukuna that she can target with Resonance. Rather than using the finger as a weapon in a direct clash, she uses it to make her technique matter at a distance. That link is what lets her contribute while Yuji is already battling Sukuna.
