No official confirmation that Gege Akutami has hinted at Gojo’s return appears in the sources reviewed. The claim should be treated as interpretation—not a confirmed plot announcement—unless its original source and exact wording establish otherwise.
What is confirmed about the “major hint”?
The claim that Akutami dropped a “major hint” is not substantiated by the official pages available here. VIZ’s Jujutsu Kaisen series page and the official Shonen Jump series page provide series and catalog information; neither confirms that Gojo will return.

The precise item behind the claim has not been verified. A secondary article surfaced under the title “Does Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 26 Hint at Gojo’s Return?”, but its page could not be retrieved, and no primary statement or panel establishing the alleged hint was located. Without the original passage or scene, it is not possible to assess what it literally says or whether the interpretation follows from it.
How to judge a claim about Gojo’s return

- Comes with secure packaging
- Care instruction: Keep away from fire
- It can be used as a gift
- What the source literally shows or says: an identifiable manga panel, interview, or official statement, with enough surrounding context to interpret it.
- What a commentator infers: an interpretation of that material, which may be plausible but is not itself a plot announcement.
- What is officially confirmed: an explicit confirmation from an authoritative source. The official pages reviewed do not provide one about Gojo returning.
A volume listing is not evidence of a plot development. Shonen Jump lists Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 26, but the catalog entry is a record of a collected edition, not a claim that the volume predicts Gojo’s return.
What the official publication record tells us
VIZ identifies Gege Akutami as the creator and says Jujutsu Kaisen began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. VIZ labels Vol. 30 as the final volume, establishing that the original manga is complete in its catalog. These facts set the publication context; they do not resolve an interpretation of a particular scene or establish a return.
Rank #2
VIZ also lists the manga and the official character guide on its series page. Those editions can help readers revisit the story and its context, but their availability does not substantiate the alleged hint.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does Akutami’s 2021 message say anything about Gojo?
No. VIZ’s June 13, 2021 post, “A Message About Jujutsu Kaisen!”, reproduces messages from Akutami and the Weekly Shonen Jump editorial team about a temporary break related to the creator’s health. It concerns the publication schedule, not Gojo’s fate, and should not be presented as evidence about the character’s return.
