Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 premiered in January 2026, so its release date is no longer upcoming. The announcement behind the headline came in December 2025, when a new trailer revealed a two-episode premiere and additional cast and opening-theme news.
When did Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 come out?
The Japanese premiere was announced for January 8, 2026. That date has passed. The official Japanese schedule listed the broadcast at 24:26 JST on Thursday, January 8—equivalent to 12:26 a.m. on Friday, January 9, by ordinary clock and calendar notation. The weekly broadcasts were scheduled for Thursdays on MBS/TBS’s Super Animeism TURBO slot across 28 stations. The official broadcast schedule gives the Japanese slot; Crunchyroll also reported the January 8 premiere date in its November 7 announcement.

What did the new Season 3 trailer announce?
The trailer in the headline is the one revealed at the Jujutsu Kaisen stage at Jump Festa 2026 on December 20, 2025. Crunchyroll reported that it confirmed the first two episodes would premiere back-to-back on January 8, and that the announcement included the opening theme and six additional cast members. Read Crunchyroll’s trailer announcement.
How did the trailer fit into the announcement timeline?
- August 31, 2025: Crunchyroll announced it would stream Season 3 when it premiered in January 2026. Its announcement identified the season’s story as the Culling Game arc and listed territories where streaming was planned. It also included an earlier teaser. Read the August announcement.
- November 7, 2025: The official anime site and Crunchyroll announced the January 8 Japanese premiere date.
- December 20, 2025: The Jump Festa trailer brought the back-to-back premiere, opening-theme and cast announcements.
- January 2026: The announced premiere took place.
Why do sources show different dates or times?
They refer to different things. The December trailer was announced on December 20, 2025; that is not the premiere date. January 8 was the announced premiere date, while Japan’s broadcast listing uses 24:26 JST—after midnight by ordinary clock notation. Crunchyroll separately announced a streaming time of 9:00 a.m. Pacific on January 8, 2026. That Pacific time should not be read as the same local calendar date everywhere. Crunchyroll’s December 16 time announcement specifies the Pacific schedule.
