Why did the kiss recall the 2003 Oscars?
The moment was widely framed as a callback to the 2003 ceremony, when Brody kissed Berry after winning the Best Actor Oscar for The Pianist. The Standard described Berry’s 2025 kiss as payback for that earlier onstage moment. The comparison is the context given in that report, rather than proof that the two exchanges were identical.
