Adventure World’s Bounty’s Revenge II opened on 18 December 2025, reviving the Perth park’s former swinging pirate ship ride in a new build. Adventure World currently lists it as open, but ride schedules, maintenance and weather can affect daily operations, so check the park’s updates before setting out.
What returned—and what changed?
The original Bounty’s Revenge was removed in 2016. After a decade-long absence, the new Bounty’s Revenge II opened to the public on 18 December 2025, according to PerthNow’s launch report. The park presents the new ride as a return of the pirate ship experience with a different propulsion system, not a restoration of the old machine.
Adventure World describes a 19.5-metre arc and a feature it calls “Flying Passage.” Near the top of the swing, the propulsion system disengages and the gondola moves in free flight before power engages again. That sequence is the operator’s description; it should not be taken as an independently verified technical assessment or as proof of a “world first.”
How does the Flying Passage ride work?
In its launch coverage, PerthNow quoted Adventure World chief executive Andrew Sharry describing a more powerful propulsion system and the gondola’s free-swinging phase: “At the heart of that technology is the propulsion system (that) has got a lot more power,” he said. Sharry also said, “They go into what’s called free flight mode, where the gondola free swings.” These are the executive’s explanations of the ride, not independent performance measurements.

Is Bounty’s Revenge II open now?
Adventure World’s attraction page currently marks the ride “NOW OPEN” and says it is not closed for unscheduled maintenance. That is a current listing, not a guarantee that the ride will operate throughout every visit: the park says attractions may run on a rotational schedule, and inclement weather can affect operations. Check the ride page and park updates close to your visit.

What is known about the ride’s capacity?
Australasian Leisure Management reported that the ride can carry up to 50 riders per cycle. The current Adventure World ride page does not state a capacity figure, so treat 50 as industry-reported rather than as a number confirmed on the operator’s current attraction listing. Australasian Leisure Management covered the project in 2025.
