Their first date was frozen yogurt at Tutti Frutti; years later, Lobb proposed during a Maldives holiday, according to PerthNow.
How did Lexi Mary meet Rory Lobb?
In a TikTok story recounted by PerthNow on 22 July 2024, Mary said Lobb sent her a direct message after she had recently ended a four-year relationship. She waited three days before replying.
The report reproduced their opening exchange: Lobb wrote, “How’s it standing?” on 12 April 2019. Mary replied the following day: “Magic 🤷♀️”. These lines are presented as part of Mary’s retelling, not as independently authenticated messages.
Mary said their first planned date was at Tutti Frutti, the frozen-yogurt chain. Lobb later called it a “meet and greet.” She recalled that he did not impress her much at first, although she was already infatuated.

Why did Mary keep the relationship quiet?
Mary said she initially wanted to keep the relationship private because her stepfather, Steve Rosich, was the Fremantle Dockers’ chief executive. That family connection made a new relationship with a club player especially sensitive, as she described it.
How did their early relationship become serious?
Mary described an undefined early period, which she called a “situationship.” She said she learned Lobb was dating other people during that time. After they took a three-week break, she asked him directly whether he wanted to be with her; PerthNow reported that she remembered the conversation as an ultimatum.

What happened after the meeting?
PerthNow reported that Lobb proposed during a Maldives holiday in November 2023. The couple shared a video featuring a table on a private beach and a heart drawn in the sand. In July 2024, Mary said they planned a small wedding for 2025, followed by a Maldives trip with family and friends; those were plans at the time.
7NEWS reported on 5 October 2025 that the couple had held a church wedding in Melbourne and expected to host a destination wedding in the Maldives. A later Western Bulldogs gallery caption for the 2026 Brownlow event called Mary Lobb’s fiancée, creating a discrepancy in the public accounts. The clearest dated description is therefore that 7NEWS reported a Melbourne church wedding in October 2025; the conflicting caption does not establish their present legal status.
