AC/DC’s production team said its stage build was complete and the band was excited to play Perth ahead of two Power Up Tour concerts at Optus Stadium on 4 and 8 December 2025. PerthNow reported that the touring setup involved 26 trucks, 155 crew members and a four-day build; those production figures and the expected crowd estimate are attributed to the report, not independently audited totals.
Two Perth concerts, on 4 and 8 December 2025
The concerts are historical events, not upcoming dates. AC/DC’s official Australian tour announcement, dated 22 June 2025, listed Optus Stadium for Thursday 4 December and named Amyl and the Sniffers as special guests. The venue’s official FAQ lists both Perth dates: Thursday 4 December and Monday 8 December 2025. The announcement was for the tour named after the band’s 2020 album Power Up. AC/DC’s announcement said the album debuted at No. 1 in Australia and 20 other countries and earned the band its third No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200.
PerthNow’s report, published on 3 December 2025, said the production was ready for the two shows and expected a combined audience of 90,000. That was an advance expectation, not a verified final attendance count.
What the production heads said
Dale Skjerseth on the completed build
PerthNow quoted Dale Skjerseth, AC/DC’s head of production, saying: “We started at 8am this morning, and we are done and completely ready for everybody.” He also said, “We’re all excited that we’re here. We always like touring down here, and I know the guys like touring down here,” and added, “The band is excited.” These are Skjerseth’s statements about readiness and the band’s mood.

Skjerseth’s description of the show
Skjerseth described the expected performance as “a solid rock show that people love and don’t get enough of anymore.” He also characterized its consistency this way: “You can always count on exactly what they do every time, and songs and all of that. It’s meat and potatoes, same thing every day.” Those are his descriptions and opinions, rather than independent assessments of the concerts.
Promoter Christo Van Egmond’s prediction
Long-time Australian promoter Christo Van Egmond called the show “an explosion of light and sound” and said the team was “set to absolutely blow the roof off.” He predicted fans would leave “ecstatic with a massive smile on their face.” That is promotional confidence, not the result of an audience survey. PerthNow also quoted Van Egmond saying, “I’ve worked on about 60 plus shows and seen over 100, and they get better and better over time.”

The scale of the reported touring production
PerthNow’s 2025 report gave the following figures for the Perth setup. They are the report’s production details, not independently audited measurements.

Tour context
AC/DC’s 22 June 2025 announcement said the Australian dates followed a European leg that had sold more than 2 million tickets across 24 shows. That cumulative sales figure applies to the European leg as described in the band’s announcement, not to the Perth concerts. The announcement also named the Australian touring line-up as Angus Young on lead guitar, Brian Johnson on vocals, Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums and Chris Chaney on bass; it is a 2025 lineup statement, not confirmation of current personnel.
