Juice WRLD’s public music career began with online uploads in 2015, rose quickly with “Lucid Dreams,” and continued through posthumous albums after his death in 2019. This timeline follows Jarad Anthony Higgins’s releases in order, distinguishing music issued during his lifetime from albums and catalog editions released later.
2015: Online beginnings
Jarad Anthony Higgins, who performed as Juice WRLD, began posting music to SoundCloud in 2015, according to Universal Music Japan’s artist biography. He was still a high-school student. This marks the beginning of his public music activity; it does not establish when he first wrote or recorded songs.

2017: Early releases and a breakout song
In June 2017, Higgins released the 999 EP. It included “Lucid Dreams,” which attracted wider attention and reached No. 2 on the U.S. singles chart, as well as No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart, according to Universal Music Japan. He released “Nothing Different” in December. “All Girls Are the Same” also helped bring industry attention; the timing of the resulting Interscope deal is described differently across sources, so it is best not to assign it a more exact date than the record supports.
The story of “Lucid Dreams” spans two release moments: its appearance on the 2017 EP and its formal single release in 2018. TIME reported that the song later peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It uses a sample from Sting’s “Shape of My Heart,” and TIME noted that Sting praised the track.

2018: Debut album and wider recognition
Goodbye & Good Riddance
Juice WRLD’s debut studio album, Goodbye & Good Riddance, arrived in May 2018. “Lucid Dreams” became its defining breakout single. The album’s reported Billboard 200 peak varies across available biographies and label material; without a reconciled primary chart record, a precise peak should not be treated as settled.
Other work that year
In 2018, he also released WRLD on Drugs, a collaborative project with Future, and toured with Nicki Minaj, according to TIME’s December 8, 2019 profile. The speed of his rise was unusual: a song first heard on an EP became a major single while he was building an audience through online music and high-profile collaborations.

2019: Death Race for Love and his death
The second studio album
Death Race for Love, Juice WRLD’s second studio album, was released in 2019 and topped the Billboard 200, according to TIME and Interscope Records. “Robbery” was associated with the album. In interviews and in his music, Higgins spoke candidly about mental health and substance-use struggles; those accounts should be understood as his own public expressions, not as a basis for assigning a diagnosis.
December 8
Higgins died on December 8, 2019, at age 21. TIME reported that the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his death. The article was published that day and said the cause had not yet been determined at the time; that early report should not be mistaken for a definitive account of later medical findings.

2020: Legends Never Die
Legends Never Die was released on July 10, 2020, as Juice WRLD’s first posthumous album, according to Universal Music Japan. Interscope reports that it topped the Billboard 200. Its release began a new phase of his catalog: projects assembled and issued after his death, distinct from the albums he released himself.
2021: Fighting Demons
Fighting Demons followed in 2021. Interscope and Apple Music place the original album in that year. Apple Music’s catalog also displays later versions and other catalog activity, so those entries should not be confused with the original album’s release date or counted as separate original studio albums.

2024 and beyond: The Party Never Ends and catalog editions
Universal Music Canada announced The Party Never Ends on November 29, 2024, describing it as Juice WRLD’s “final posthumous album.” That wording reflects the label’s announcement at the time; it is not a guarantee that no future reissue, anniversary edition, or other catalog release will appear. Apple Music lists The Party Never Ends 2.0 in 2024 and presents later catalog entries and anniversary editions as well.
For a timeline, the useful distinction is between the original albums and subsequent catalog versions: the latter extend how listeners encounter the music, but they do not change the dates of the original releases. The Apple Music artist catalog is dynamic, so its current listings may change.
