Misfit Garage followed the Fired Up Garage crew in Dallas as they took on custom street-rod projects. The cast records confirm who appeared on the series, but they do not establish most cast members’ current jobs or whether they still work together. The clearest reported career transition is Scot McMillan’s departure in 2018—a past update, not confirmation of his business status today.
What the available records can—and can’t—tell us
Discovery framed the series around Fired Up Garage’s attempt to establish itself in the custom street-rod world. Its official description says: “The crew at Fired Up Garage in Dallas, Texas, sets out to prove themselves as the number one shop in the world for custom street rods.” That describes the program’s premise, not the shop’s present-day operations. Cast listings and credits are useful for identifying people who appeared on the show. They are not current staff directories, and they do not prove that former castmates remain business partners or hold the same jobs. The sources available here do not verify current work for most of the cast.

Tom Smith
Tom Smith is among the names most closely associated with the show’s Fired Up Garage premise. He is listed in the series cast records and appeared in the crew description for a 2018 season. Those historical records do not establish what he does now. Apple TV’s cast listing and Warner Bros. Discovery’s 2018 season announcement

Jordan Butler appears in the Apple TV cast listing. Rotten Tomatoes’ premise summary describes him as part of the group that started a rival shop, but that is a network-era description of the show’s setup—not evidence about his current work or relationships. Apple TV and Rotten Tomatoes

Scot McMillan
A 2026 Biography Tribune profile reports that McMillan left Misfit Garage in 2018 to focus on Scot Rods. The profile does not establish whether Scot Rods is still active, so the report should be read as an account of a past transition—not a verified update on his business today. Other names in cast listings and credits
Apple TV’s cast section also lists John Klump, Josh Paris, Kevin Clark, and Richard Rawlings. The 2018 Warner Bros. Discovery announcement specifically names Klump and Paris in its season crew description and discusses a planned 1978 Chevy K5 Blazer build. These records establish past association with the series, not current roles at Fired Up Garage or elsewhere. Apple TV and Warner Bros. Discovery
