His post-series credits include The Killing of Two Lovers, The Integrity of Joseph Chambers, The Channel, The King Tide and Finestkind, as well as an episode of the anthology series Into the Dark. He has also received producer credits on some independent films.
Why Clayne Crawford left Lethal Weapon
Fox renewed Lethal Weapon for a third season in May 2018, but Crawford’s contract was not renewed. Seann William Scott joined season three as a new character partnered with Roger Murtaugh; he did not take over Crawford’s role as Martin Riggs. The Los Angeles Times reported that Crawford acknowledged being reprimanded twice and attending therapy arranged by the studio. He apologized for his temper and said he believed unsafe working conditions had contributed to it. Those comments were Crawford’s account, not an adjudicated finding about the set.

In later interviews, Crawford also discussed the incidents in his own words. TheWrap’s report on a podcast interview quoted him acknowledging a poor choice during an outburst while disputing some descriptions of the circumstances. Vanity Fair likewise reported his account. The available reporting does not establish that his departure led to later career outcomes such as blacklisting.

Filmography listings show a mix of independent features and one post-exit television anthology appearance. Some databases use different years for films, so the titles and roles are more reliable identifiers here than a single definitive release chronology.

These credits are drawn from IMDb’s filmography and The Movie Database’s filmography. Their year conventions do not always match; for example, The Killing of Two Lovers is commonly listed as a 2020 film, while some databases assign a later release year.
He has also worked behind the camera
Filmography databases credit Crawford as a producer on more than one independent film, including The Killing of Two Lovers and You & I. The acting and producing credits indicate that his work after the series was not limited to performing roles, though the listings alone do not establish the scope of his production responsibilities.

What the record does—and does not—show
The documented post-series work points primarily to film, with Into the Dark providing a television anthology appearance. A current directory lists additional 2025–2026 entries, but those 2026 credits have not been corroborated here through production or distributor sources.
