E!’s Dirty Rotten Scandals: The Price Is Right revisits allegations about appearance pressure, workplace behavior, racism, sexual harassment and Bob Barker’s relationship with Dian Parkinson. The claims come from former models, staff members and a historian interviewed for the documentary and reported by Entertainment Weekly on March 21, 2026. They are accounts and allegations—not findings established by an independent investigation or court ruling.
1. Holly Hallstrom said she felt pushed to change her appearance
Former model Holly Hallstrom recalled that producers wanted models to wear bathing suits and described a comment she attributed to producer Frank Wayne: “We really need a model who can fill out a bathing suit. I would advise you to use your hiatus wisely.” Hallstrom said she understood the remark as pressure to get breast implants at her own expense. “I had to go get breast implants, and I had to pay for it myself,” she said, according to EW’s account of the documentary.
That is Hallstrom’s recollection of the exchange and its meaning; the report does not establish a formal production requirement for cosmetic surgery.
2. Hallstrom and a stage manager described a controlling set
Hallstrom characterized Barker as exercising strict control over the set and recalled him berating crew members when production problems upset him. Former stage manager Robert Cisneros described a separate incident involving model Janice Pennington: Cisneros said a camera operator struck Pennington and recalled that Barker insisted filming resume afterward.

These are two attributed recollections in the documentary coverage. They do not, by themselves, independently verify every detail of the incidents or establish how the production handled them beyond what the speakers described.
3. Former models alleged racism in the workplace
Kathleen Bradley, whom EW identifies as the show’s first permanent Black model, recalled being told by a production-team member that people had used a racial slur during a production meeting when models were absent. Bradley’s account is a report of what someone else told her, rather than her claim to have heard the language at that meeting herself.

Claudia Jordan separately alleged that producer Phil Wayne used racial stereotypes and that the show limited the number of Black contestants. EW reports Jordan’s account; the coverage does not establish that contestant limits were a verified production policy.
4. Interviewees described harassment and a disputed “10-second rule”
Bradley, Barbara Hunter and Hallstrom described inappropriate conduct by men working on the set and said complaints did not lead to effective action. Hunter recalled that, in her words, “It became common knowledge to stay away from this person or stay away from that person.” Their accounts describe what they experienced or understood; they should not be treated as adjudicated findings.

EW also reports historian Christian Carrion’s account that CBS introduced a rule limiting how long men could stare at models to ten seconds. Hallstrom called the rule “a joke” and said it was not enforced. The documentary reporting does not independently establish the rule’s formal policy history.
5. The documentary revisited Barker and Parkinson’s relationship and lawsuit
Former models described a sexual relationship between Barker and model Dian Parkinson. Hallstrom said she and Pennington realized “long before the rest of the set knew that Dian and Bob were having sex.” EW’s related coverage says Barker publicly confirmed the affair but claimed Parkinson initiated it, a version that differs from how some interviewees framed the relationship.

Parkinson filed a sexual-harassment lawsuit against Barker and later dropped it, according to EW. The fact that the lawsuit was dropped is an outcome of the case, not a court finding that proves or disproves the allegations.

In a separate EW report dated March 19, 2026, Hallstrom said she declined to give a deposition supporting Barker in Parkinson’s litigation and alleged that Barker later drove her departure from the show. Barker disputed Hallstrom’s account of why she left, EW reported. The competing accounts should remain attributed to the people who made them.

How to read the documentary’s claims
The five themes are serious, but the available coverage chiefly recounts interviews in the documentary. An allegation, a second person’s recollection, a reported policy and a legal outcome are not interchangeable forms of proof. In particular, the reporting does not establish a proven show-wide policy of racial discrimination, independently verify every set incident, or resolve the disputed accounts of Barker and Hallstrom.
EW’s March 17, 2026 explainer provides additional context on the documentary’s interviewees and claims.
